My name is Daniël van Oostveen — clarinet enthusiast, founder of De Klarinetteur, and developer of the PadDIY leak tester. From a young age, the clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone have played a central role in my life. As an experienced amateur musician, I have enjoyed playing for many years in symphony orchestras, ensembles, wind bands, and various groups. That practical experience has shaped my ear for detail and my passion for sound. I am currently principal clarinetist of the Zwols Symphony Orchestra and solo/first clarinetist with Harmonieorkest Excelsior in Ermelo. In addition, I regularly play bass clarinet in an ensemble.
After many years working in IT, I decided to fully dedicate myself to instrument repair. What began as a fascination with perfect sound and a love for technique and maintenance grew into a professional workshop where precision, craftsmanship, and personal attention come together. With my experience, I developed the PadDIY Leak Tester as an essential tool to support the artisanal repair process.
